Title: Experimental and theoretical investigation of the flash temperature field of line contacts
Abstract: A theoretical model was formed to calculate the average temperature field of a rolling-sliding concentrated line contact, as well as the mean maximum contact temperature developed at the asperity contacts. The model equations were solved numerically using the finite differences method. The results calculated from this theory were compared with measurements carried out on a specially designed disk test rig.
